Topic: [Feature|Denied] Second Life As Another Choice For Content

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
That the rule of Second Life content being completely removed from further uploading could be overturned, allowing for videos and such to be posted onto the site.

Why would it be useful?
Many different pieces of content in Second Life are of very high quality; comparable, if not just as good as many animations currently being hosted here. This would allow for more diverse content, especially coming from many different and currently unknown animators, who are creating exceptional content, but are unable to get a foothold anywhere else from the lack of views.

Here are two examples of the engine:

The videos above has been created with Second Life, note how it is structured, is in very high quality, and plays out similarly to a Source Filmmaker video such as these two:

Even comparing two very similarly animated videos, one being Second Life:
https://e621.net/post/show/1603776
and the other Source Filmmaker:
https://e621.net/post/show/1556683

Both of these show via extremely similar quality how much potential there is for very well done videos to be created and uploaded using the SL engine.

While yes, the main counter point to be made is that Second Life is a game such as minecraft, as can be shown in the video above, absolutely zero gameplay elements are included in any e6 approved animation. This is just another medium to allow artists to animate in 3D, in nearly the same manner as Source Filmmaker is utilizing the source engine.

As can be said with Source Filmmaker, Second Life Works that do not meet e621's guidelines would be rejected for whatever reason deemed necessary. This would allow for the best and most enjoyable content to be shown, with 3D Animations in particular being one of the most popular types of content, adding Second Life back into e6 would only boost the content we already enjoy very much today.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
Submissions, and more 3D animations being included

Absolutely not. Second Life is banned explicitly purely because it's basically a game engine that supports user made content. SFM is a feature complete animation program that allows the actual render and output of video formats. The only way to get video out of SL is taking a video capture of the program.

Again, this will not change, SL is dealt with like any other engine that requires a third party recording application and is incapable of native export of video files.

One thing I have noticed once I have started to see more second life videos, is that the animations are really commonly recycled, on top of other problems like consistant and constant microstutters, camera moved with mouse being jittery and lack of any kind of body language so it's always idle animations with text pasted on top of it.

This is one of the reasons why screencaps from games and sandboxes aren't allowed, because you are essentially just clicking readily available animation on exsisting models and enviroment and then hitting record, maybe add text with windows movie maker. Artistical value is near zero, even if there's pornographic one, but just friendly reminder this is not a pornsite.

Even that approved example, which is grandfathered superior version, has massive amounts of video editing to make it look decent, where the SFM I would almost assume to be direct render with not much if any editing outside audio.

Also there are already websites which are dedicated for this kind of content, this includes most major mainstream porn video websites, naughtymachinima or for furry related content Furry Network.
