How do you tag humans with tails, e.g. in post #239822? Just "human" and "tail" would work, except "tail" is an invalid tag, since just about every character on this site has a tail.

Those just get Human + Animal_Ears as far as I am aware. For example, Nekomimi is aliased to Cat_Ears which in turn implicates Animal_Ears.

Humans can have tails without animal ears.

I don't think you do... Though as far as I'm concerned, tail definitely needs to be a tag. I'm very interested in knowing which posts have a visible tail, and which do not.
Like Raiden Gekkou points out, the work-arounds we have now aren't comprehensive.

I'm not entirely sure "Why" we removed the nekomata tag, when it applies to all the "Animal-ear/animal-tail" humans...

Related: feet is aliased to hindpaws, which doesn't work when there are human feet.

Humans have tailbones, but sadly no tails. They also have collarbones, but unfortunately rarely wear collars.

There's the animal_tail tag, with 3 posts, which is a shame

Well that would just make too much sense, wouldn't it? >.> *goes off to tag some posts*

Tails? Humans don't have tails. They have big big bottoms in bad shorts, walk around going "hi Helen!"
in seriousness, I feel like there should be a tag for these sorts of people. I believe the previous issue was that people were tagging cat-girl and cat_boy and dog_girl and dog_boy all very specifically.. or nekomimi and inumimi and so forth. but I don't know what hte best 'middle ground' is between too vague and too specific.
is human animal_ears animal_tail good enough?

I think we can either be consistent and use the animal_tails tag more, or else risk the doom and mess of reinstating the tail tag, but only allowing it for humans with tails. This is inadvisable.

That's what I've been doing. (Well, animal_tail rather than animal_tails, but I assume they're aliased...)

They aren't, but for now, theres not really any need for it. plus, tails aren't the sort of thing that are 'accidentally' pluralized, since most people only have one tail, (as opposed to, say, coins, or gems, or such where you generally have several or many, and refering to it in the plurage feels more natural then, say, dogs, or cats.)
that said, YAY animal_tail :D
