Topic: Renaming “big dick day” tag to “big dick chub day” for a proper translation of the tag

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

On November 18 artists post works featuring chubby/fat males with big dicks using the tags 巨根デブの日, 11.18 . 11.18 was chosen “1” to represent big dicks and “8” for chubby/fat male. The day started with this https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/12958752 from the shota artist nikubo

The tag big dick day needs to be renamed to “big dick chub day”, “chubby with big dick day” or something similar to reflect the best translation of 巨根デブの日 since the day contains the Japanese word for chubby/fat body (デブ) and the current tag could imply it’s about any kind of body and 巨根デブの日 is only for chubby/fat males.

Are either of these tags necessary? Does it matter that something was created on a specific day, rather than having the contents (big_penis and slightly_chubby or overweight_male) encouraged by that day?

All the tagged pics have the logos of the event on them. 11.18 where the 1 looks like penis and the 8 looks like a chubby man and/or the logo with the text 巨根デブの日 where the の extends to form a penis.

It's similar to the tags zangoose_day and patreon. They are used if they have the logo somewhere on the artwork

A pool or collection seems more appropriate to me.

I would say that the logo used with this is extremely distinguishable for it to be immidiately noticeable with the post, at which point it would be kinda ridiculous to not tag it. This would be like saying that patreon should not be tagged, because posts from patreon should not be tagged.
If it was simply artwork made in specific day at that point set should be used instead, because that would be external information.

Speaking of, we do also have tags for days like bowser_day, even though that day doesn't have any semi-official logos or anything and majority of posts don't even have text to indicate it's made for bowser day, so tags like that would be more prone to invalidation almost.

Not my circus, so I don't really have a strong opinion. However, just because it needs to be said, what you're describing is a circular argument, and that's not what I made.

Alright, yeah, the logo. But I have to wonder how many people will tag because of the logo, rather than because it was made for that day's theme without the logo present. Same problem with the various blender/sfm/etc tags... they're supposed to be for when you can see the software's UI, but everyone just uses those tags when something was made in it, and you're not supposed to tag what something was made in.

In that case, the wiki could be edited to require the explicit presence of the logo to tag a post. Posts tagged with "big_dick_chub_day" (or whatever the new name will be) that do not include the logo should be edited to exclude the tag.

Editing the wiki won't do much if people continuously tag it wrong regardless. Blender_(software) does say it should only be used when visual elements of the software, or specific characters created by the Blender Foundation to promote the software, are visible, but I bet few of the 1000+ posts with the tag follow that (the entire first page of results certainly don't). And when a tag is rarely ever used correctly, and the vast majority of the time is used in a way no tag should be used, it's invalid.

Both SFM and Blender tags are complete and utter mess, but the situation in there is that people seem to utilize it for quality control (if it looks bad, SFM, if it looks good, Blender).
At least blender was disambiguated so that actual blenders weren't mixed with 3D artwork.

I have also been waiting for the judgement day on especially SFM tag at some point, because this cannot continue.
