Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: pegging -> female_penetrating_male

Posted under General

The tag implication #32002 pegging -> female_penetrating_male has been rejected.

Reason: Pegging is defined as a female penetrating a male in the ass with a strap-on.

EDIT: The tag implication pegging -> female_penetrating_male (forum #290470) has been rejected by @Millcore.

No. Both in real life, and in terms of the tag, pegging specifically means a female using a strap-on.

Except, no it doesn't. Pegging refers in any situation to someone being fucked by a strapon. Thats literally it.

Its not a magical gender specific thing.

It's original definition that was coined by Dan Savage's contest, the one e621 (or at least its wiki) currently uses, is specifically a female pentrating male anally with a strapon (well, e6 allows feeldoes too).

My position on this hasn't changed:

Out there on the internet, pegging seems to be losing its original meaning, for good or for ill.

- Is it female/feminine penetrating another person?
- Is it male/masculine getting penetrated?
- Does it specifically involve a strapon or feeldoe?
- Is it specifically anal penetration?
- Or is it some of the above?

Ask 50 different people what it means and you'd probably get 50 different answers.

Personally I'd prefer keeping the definition as it is here on e621 and probably approving the implication suggetion. Makes it easier for my blacklist to keep functioning as I want it.

Except literally every word you just said is wrong.

Nobody cares about somebody coining a term as "this gender on this gender." E621 doesn't use gender connotations, and once you remove them it's simply "One person anally penetrating another with a strap-on"

Then it should not be called pegging. As has been said before, pegging is a role-reversal kink which switches the roles of the typical 'male penetrating female'. Other gender combos are not role-reversal and therefore not pegging. As such, those should be tagged as something else.

I'm for keeping pegging, since it is useful: some users want to search for that specific kink, others want to blacklist it. But aliasing it to female_penetrating_male would work too, that's sufficiently close and the change won't cause users any 'surprises' with their blacklists.

In its current state, the wiki definition for pegging refers exclusively to a female using a strapon on a male (anally), a very specific situation. I can see the value in keeping that definition as-is for people who want to search for it, so I support implicating pegging -> female_penetrating_male.

As for a more general tag to cover all situations where one character is using a strapon on another, maybe strapon_sex could work? We could have the implication pegging -> strapon_sex as it's just a special case.

Couldn't aliasing pegging -> female_penetrating_male result in mixing of female-using-strapon-on-male posts with posts where a female is penetrating a male in some other way (eg fisting, fingering)?

If some very particular users were searching for pegging only, they might get some surprises.

In any case it's a useful tag that means a very specific thing and changing that doesn't really offer anything new or helpful
