The tag implication #37587 protogen -> cyborg has been rejected.

Reason: protogens are by definition cyborgs, idk what more needs to be said

... Aren't they completely synthetic organisms built around their technical bits? Going off the Cyborg wiki entry I'd argue they're closer to robots with organic bits slapped on and therefore not qualify for the Cyborg tag.

I'm not finding examples, but what if a Protogen were drawn as a full robot?

Protogens differ from Synths in that a Protogen's entire face is a monitor, while a synth has a jaw.

Machine with organic bits, organic bits with machine, it's a cyborg either way.

Not according to the wiki entry, for the purpose of this site.

Apparently, the cyborg wiki states, "Cyborgs are biological beings with robot bits added on, but robots with biological bits added on (eg. Beast Wars Transformers) are not considered cyborgs." Thus, artificial beings with biological parts are not cyborgs according to the wiki.

However, the protogen wiki claims, "Primagen and Protogen are cyborg alien fictional species, closed and restricted respectively, created by Malice-Risu." The wiki directly asserts that protogens are cyborgs, and if protogens really are natural, living beings with cybernetics, then, they are cyborgs according to the previously mentioned cyborg wiki.

Otherwise, if they are robots with living parts, then, they are not cyborgs. I honestly am more inclined to believe the latter claim, and it seems that the admin who rejected the implication, Millcore, concurs with that view. The reality of the matter just seems to be that protogens are more or less robots with living parts.
