The tag alias #51586 sailor_fuku -> serafuku has been approved.
Reason: Both terms refer to the same style of Japanese school uniform, the serafuku tag has more entries by far (852 to 162).

Nobody seems to have any idea what to do about these tags. serafuku (セーラー服) literally means "sailor uniform". It is sometimes used as a pun on seifuku, which means "school uniform". Having the japanese word serafuku as a tag doesn't make sense when the english translation sailor_uniform (or japanese_sailor_uniform) is suitable, however, for some reason no alias or implication requests about serafuku have been accepted, and no reason given for the rejections, so who knows what should happen.

It seems like here on e621 "Serafuku" has exclusively been used for the "sailor style" Japanese school uniform, and not the literal translation.
Meanwhile, the tag "Sailor Uniform" has mostly been used for traditional naval wear, that the "Serafuku" is patterned after (and for costumes based off of the sailor uniform, that also aren't school uniforms).
"Sailor Fuku" is a redundant tag, it's just partial translation of "Serafuku" and means the exact same thing that the "Serafuku" tag does.
