The bulk update request #1346 is active.

Reason: Undertale and Deltarune belong to the same series and some characters are recurring. The purpose of this BUR is to create an umbrella tag for both games and have the recurring characters imply it to avoid inaccuracy.

Is it the "Undertale series"? Seems to me that Undertale and Deltarune are separate games in a grander metaverse. Though if what I heard is accurate (that Undertale is implied to be a game made by someone in Deltarune), Deltarune could be taken as the series' core. But without Toby's say-so, we don't know how they connect other than sharing similar characters.

I suppose that by release order, it makes more sense to keep it as undertale_(series). Sure, there could be that meta aspect between both games, but since they're related and Undertale is the first game, it wouldn't matter which one is the "core" of the series.

Unless you wanted to call it by "Toby Fox's Multiverse" or "Dreemurr Series", it makes more sense to use undertale_(series) than deltarune_(series) from a chronological standpoint, but Deltarune was supposedly Toby's first idea, and Undertale was just a modification of the idea to have a focus on pacifism or genocide. Knowing that Deltarune was the original concept, that Undertale is a game within Deltarune, and that the "Delta Rune" is a lore point even in Undertale, I'd prefer the series to be named after Deltarune, but either way works as long as the other is aliased to it.

My preference would be undertale_(series) if only because "Undertale" is more familiar to people. Although I suppose deltarune_(series) would get aliased to the tag (or vice versa), so not the biggest deal.

Annoying Dog also shows up in Deltarune.

unalias annoying_dog -> annoying_dog_(undertale)

alias annoying_dog_(undertale) -> annoying_dog
alias annoying_dog_(deltarune) -> annoying_dog
imply annoying_dog -> undertale_(series)

The *_(undertale) suffix can stay since we're calling it Undertale_(Series) anyway. That would follow the same standard Sans and other characters are already setting.
