Reason: I've been seeing some posts with briefs colors being tagged and I'd like to make it more consistent. Without the implications people need to remember to add the underwear tag which isn't always done.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1558 (forum #320300) has been approved by @bitWolfy.

Also, wouldn't it be better to alias tighty_whities -> white_briefs instead? Are there any white_briefs that are not tighty_whities?

An implication is better than an alias imo. The way these seem to be used is for the predominant color, so there can be white_briefs which have other colors (post #2728227) or designs (post #3014959) that aren't tighty_whities (post #2742488) in the typical bland, all-white style.

unimply tighty_whities -> white_underwear

first.

Done, I figured out how to edit BURs :3
That makes sense, do I just edit the OP to add that? I haven't done tag implication requests before :/

Yes, from what I can tell tighty_whities refers specifically to briefs that are entirely white. For example, none of the following qualify:

post #2886679 post #2802882 post #2632187

...and, of course:

An example of both in the same image:

It's quite a common and specific fetish so it shouldn't get aliased.

While looking at posts I did notice that there seem to be a few posts like post #595670, which is borderline abuse of the two_tone_briefs tag IMO. You could argue that the search white_briefs -two_tone_briefs would produce mostly the same results as tighty_whities (absent cases like the post above, which is a concern when removing any combo tag), but if we're going to rule blue-with-white-highlights briefs as "white" then it only strengthens the case for a separate tag.

Yeah I've been trying to find a better solution to that tag. I've started using colored_seam_underwear to distinguish briefs that just have different colored seams from briefs that just generally have two tones like post #2618056 and post #1895702

So yeah I agree that tagging post #595670 with white_briefs is a stretch

This BUR is a good start, but on closer inspection, all the *_briefs -> briefs implications need to be created too. After that you can also remove the other two direct implications from tighty_whities.

I reckon a set of colored_seam_underwear subtags would be a good move too, since it seems to come in at least as many varieties as solid underwear. Should also make sure a coloured_seam_underwear alias exists.

I added the *_briefs -> briefs implications and removed the direct implications from tighty_whities

I added the coloured -> color alias to topic #31368 since I think it fits better in that request.

I reckon a set of colored_seam_underwear subtags would be a good move too

I considered that but thought it might be too specific? First time making a new tag so I'm not sure what the rules around that are, but yeah I think something like red_seam_underwear etc would be helpful

Still missing the underwear one.

There are no rules, you make a tag and then you try to convince other people that it deserves to exist. The more niche or hyper-specific, the less likely you'll have any help adding it to images, but the worst that can happen is someone proposes to alias it away.

There are rules about adding tags that don't apply to the image, or making tags for concepts that cannot be tagged under this site's rules, but underwear colours don't meet either of those criteria.

Should be fixed now?

Oh, cool. I added the *_seam_underwear color categories as implicating colored_seam_underwear. I didn't have them imply the color_underwear tags since I think those should be for the main color not every color.
