AFAIK, it isn't. People are just using it for egyptian posts with any cat (especially Ankha), regardless of breed. I believe that it should be aliased to domestic_cat.

I think this one should be burmese_cat rather than just using the demonym for anything originating in Burma even though it seems unlikely it'd be used for anything else.

IMO, siamese should be aliased to siamese_cat, just like calico is aliased to calico_cat.

The standard here seems to be for cats with location-based names to have _cat at the end of the tag, e.g. abyssinian_cat, bengal_cat, himalayan_cat, siberian_cat, thai_cat, and others. "siamese" is also a location (historical name for Thailand), so by this logic, the tag should be siamese_cat too. And ditto for birman and burmese (I'll edit the BUR).

Of course, there's also ragdoll_cat, skookum_cat, and ragamuffin_cat (there is unfortunately no kingdom of Ragdolia), so maybe it's a bit inconsistent across the board.

Ragdoll, Skookum and Ragamuffin each have several meanings, so the disambiguation is necessary.
