Hi there. I'm having troubles trying to figure out how to @ users on this website. You know how people link stuff, right? Well, it's kind of like that, except it's users.

Like this: "sparkleneon":/user/show/1064265 -> sparkleneon
Or this: "sparkleneon":/users/1064265 -> sparkleneon
All text is formatted using DText. You can learn more about it here.

You can't, at least not in the way I think you want to. The "Search for myself" links in the profile page just do a regular text search, making them useless for people with names that also occur in normal speech, and there's no notification system.

On top of this, you can also do it with usernames:
"sparkleneon":/users/sparkleneon -> sparkleneon
This way does have some constraints though, such as the link no longer working or leading to somebody else if the user changes name and also if the username fully consists of numbers.

You wrote that wrong. It's "sparkleneon":https://e621.net/users/1064265.

No, both ways lead to the same result.

Unless you're on e926, where it will force you to go to the page on e621 instead. Using sparkleneon shows as an external link (with the little box and arrow icon), while sparkleneon is a normal "internal" link.

Internal links are those that have nothing before and including e621.net or e926.net.
