Topic: Tag implication: shapeshifting -> shape_shifter

IMO, shape_shifter should be invalidated and shapeshifting aliased to transformation. Shape shifter says it's for "When a character can change shape", which whether a character can change shape or not is well beyond TWYS and irrelevant to what they look like in a picture. And the act of shapeshifting is identical to transforming, which we already have a tag for.

Gotcha, would it be appropriate for me to submit a request for those changes right now? I'm new to tagging so I'm not sure if there are allowed to be multiple pending requests involving the same tags.

What's the difference between shapeshifting and transformation? For that matter, what's the difference between shapeshifting and a shape_shifter?

I think you can transform without shapeshifting. EX: I wouldn't say a transformer from the transformer's series shapeshifts.

So I would say a shapeshift is a type of transformation, but not all transformations are shapeshifts.

The bulk update request #1768 is active.

create alias shapeshifting (0) -> transformation (79011)
change category shape_shifter (733) -> invalid

As stated above, shapeshifting is transformation.
Shape_shifter is often used without any TWYS proof, so it's better off being invalidated.

I'll need to clean up the shapeshifting tag somewhat before going through with this.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1768 (forum #323508) has been approved by @slyroon.
