Reason: The proposed implication is ) -> invalid_tag. The "new alias" form wouldn't let me submit a bare ) in the "From" box.

This tag most likely results from an error in typing in some other tag that ends with a close parenthesis. character_(artist) tags are one example. It might also result from trying to use a smiley as a tag.

Currently, https://e621.net/posts?tags=%29 has 27 hits.

I didn't file a request for ( , because it has 0 hits right now ( https://e621.net/posts?tags=%28 ), but it may be a good idea to alias it to invalid_tag as well.

If it won't let you submit the request normally, then don't submit it. Run searches to make sure the requests don't already exist, and if they don't, make a thread without going through the requester to explain the issue.
