Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: strapless_strapon -> feeldoe

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #44229 strapless_strapon -> feeldoe has been rejected.

Reason: A "feeldoe" is a "strapless strapon" When someone is searching for "strapless_strapon" nothing comes up because the tag has either not been used, or has been removed in the past.
Either "strapless_strapon" needs to be implicated by "feeldoe", or "feeldoe" needs to be implicated by "strapless_strapon".
Another tag to be considered to be created/implicated in this same manner is "strapon_(strapless)".

EDIT: The tag implication strapless_strapon -> feeldoe (forum #334613) has been rejected by @Rainbow_Dash.

"Strapless strapon" is an oxymoron, and I can't say I've head the term before. If it's a term people sometimes use to refer to a feeldoe, I think an alias would be better.

probably the result of not knowing how to describe something so you call it the name of a functional equivalent

Neither strapless dildo nor strapless strapon make much sense, but that's not important here. What actually matters is that people call them that, so they should be aliased.

I actually thought there wasn't any pictures with strapless dildos on this site 'cause I didn't know it's called feeldoe around here.

You two perfectly captured my point. People don't think of a brand name, they'll think of a way to describe it.
If somebody is shown a double dildo that's designed to provide the functionality of a strapon, without using straps, glue, or suction cups, and they don't know about the feeldoe brand, they're going to think to search for "strapless strapon" or "strapless dildo".

This should be an alias instead of an implication. And if feeldoe is a brand name, maybe it should be the other way around.

If not to Feeldoe, then to "slip-in" maybe? That's how it works, is it slips in instead of strapping on.

Not sure if it's necessary to come up with entirely new term when existing ones are perfectly servicable.

Looks like everyone has their own name for the thing, how about we try polling people?

It’s not uncommon to use a brand name to refer to any instance of an object. Especially considering that most people probably don’t even know that “feeldoe” is a brand name, I’d say we keep it as is.

I don't think many people are getting what I mean. I mean that if someone searches "Strapless_Strapon" it should re-direct to "feeldoe".

The whole point of my post is to alias strapless_strapon to feeldoe, or otherwise implicate feeldoe whenever someone enters strapless_strapon, making it simpler to search for a feeldoe type of "strap-on" if someone doesn't know the term "feeldoe".

Though, It could just be me misunderstanding which is which (implication vs alias). I'm going to submit this same thing as an alias request in case I'm just misunderstanding.

Yeah, I understood that, and I agree with the idea. An implication would add the feeldoe tag in addition to strapless_strapon rather than replacing it, hence why nobody gave this request a +1.

The bulk update request #7939 has been rejected.

create alias strapless_strapon (0) -> feeldoe (220)

Reason: this is a very commonly used name for this item.

Yes Feeldoe is just a brand. But so is band-aid, I don't think all tags like this are necessarily bad. But we can always revisit that later if need be

Edit: oops, already exists
