Seems a bit superfluous to me. Pixel_(artwork) is already used for images that have been notably upscaled using nearest neighbor. Linear upscaling would result in a blurry image that the quality guidelines would take issue with, and AI upscaling is not allowed.

Can you post examples? I'm not seeing any that weren't designed by the pixel. Upscales might get a little pixelly as a result of the upscale but can be based off normal brushwork. I don't think said images count as pixel artwork.

Not strictly. If an upscaled version of an image is the only one available, and the quality isn’t noticeably terrible, it would probably get to stay. This might happen if the original source was lost, but an upscaled version was posted somewhere.

Or if the artist is like NCS and just upscales everything themselves.
