Topic: [APPROVED] Belt Update Request

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #2602 is active.

create alias belt_unbuckled (0) -> open_belt (745)
create alias belt_undone (2) -> open_belt (745)
create alias undone_belt (2) -> open_belt (745)
create alias unbuckled_belt (3) -> open_belt (745)
create alias unbuckled (1) -> open_belt (745)
create implication open_belt (745) -> belt (59898)

Reason: I have never seen so little consensus on what a tag should be called. Every tag in this script has at least 10 posts at the time of writing, with unbuckled_belt having the most at 79.

The unbuckled alias seems dubious on the surface, but I was unable to find an example of it being applied to unbuckling anything other than a belt, and it has the second-most posts at 78 so this probably isn't a problem that should be fixed manually with a disambiguation.

I chose open_belt as the canonical tag due to the existence of the open_clothing implication hierarchy, to which I have added it. I decided not to imply it to open_bottomwear, but could be persuaded by arguments to the contrary.

Finally, it is obviously not possible to tell whether a belt is unbuckled or not if you can't see a belt.

EDIT: The bulk update request #2602 (forum #337107) has been approved by @slyroon.

Everything else seems good to me, I'll +1 if create implication open_belt -> open_clothing is removed from the BUR.

I'm not sure I really like the sound of "open belt" but it does fit the naming scheme of other tags.

If the open_clothing implication is removed, it doesn’t really have to follow the naming scheme of the other tags, as the other tags are all clothing tags and this one is not.

I think unbuckled_belt would be the best option, personally.

I still prefer unbuckled_belt because nobody on Earth ever says “I opened my belt”
