create alias handhoof (0) -> hooved_hands (0)
create alias hoofed_hands (18) -> hooved_hands (0)
create alias hoofhand (1) -> hooved_hands (0)
create alias hoofhands (12) -> hooved_hands (0)
create alias hoof_fingertips (0) -> hooved_fingertips (215)
create implication hooved_hands (0) -> hooves (134759)
create implication unguligrade_hands (5) -> hooved_hands (0)
create implication hooved_fingers (4707) -> hooved_hands (0)
create implication hooved_fingertips (215) -> hooved_hands (0)
create implication hooved_fingertips (215) -> fingers (508686)
remove implication hooved_fingers (4707) -> hooves (134759)

Reason: Hooved hands can be divided into three categories:

1. Ones where only fingertips are hooved
post #3429605 post #3336001
2. Ones where whole length of the finger is hooved
post #3456065 post #3461450
3. Ones where hand is a regular hoof
post #2934335 post #3317213

The problem right now is that hooved_hands can be interpreted as all three, and hooved_fingers doesn't make a distinction between the first two.
Take a look at hoof_hands and hooved_hands history, around 30% of posts are/were mistagged.

  • hooved_hands as umbrella for all three.
    • hooved_fingertips covers the first one. Implies fingers, hooves.
    • hooved_fingers already covers the second one. Implies fingers, hooves.
    • unguligrade_hands for the third, since that's essentially what they are, and the name is less ambiguous. Implies hooves.

If unguligrade_hands with movable hooves would ever crop up, articulated_hooves could be used.

hooved_fingers -> hooves implication will be redundant.

Updated

This one's a bit tricky. The third scenario doesn't fit with the first two, but the first two could do with their own umbrella. I was initially going to give this a neutral and recommend the old tags exist as an umbrella, but that won't work with said third scenario.

Hold on, why won't hooved_hands won't work as umbrella?

I'm actually facepalming right now because somehow I completely missed this solution:

  • hooved_hands
    • hooved_fingertips
    • hooved_fingers
    • unguligrade_hands

Seems perfectly workable, and avoids disambiguation page.

When the entire thing is a hoof, it isn't even really a hand anymore.

I would still call it hand if it's attached to anthro/humanoid character, even if just for tagging purposes.

I don’t think hands should be tagged as unguligrade. I think that should be left strictly for feet, regarding how the character stands or appears to stand.

Is the problem with unguligrade_hands name, or with it implying unguligrade? Can't think of a better name for this situation, but I can see how the implication can cause problems. Updated.

Also, do you think hooved_hands is better off as umbrella, or disambiguation?

The implication was the main problem, yeah. The name, however, might confuse some people into thinking that unguligrade should be applied as well, even without the implication in place. It’s not easy to think of a better name though. Honestly, I think maybe keeping hoof_hands for fully hoofed hands and just trying to clean out any mistags might be the best way to go. Maybe.
1+ for now either way.

If we’re not going to do what I suggested above, I think I might lean towards umbrella. Less cleanup that way.

I'll go for this then

  • hooved_hands
    • hooved_fingertips
    • hooved_fingers
    • unguligrade_hands
