Reason: Splatoon_2 was aliased as JUST splatoon.
Splatoon_(series) seems redundant since we don't have subsidiary tags for splatoon.
Why do we even HAVE the 1?

I presume someone was trying to have separate tags for each game. But I don't think we need tags for each separate game given how similar they are, and as you noted, splatoon_2 is already aliased away.

Splatoon 3 can probably wait, it could help people who are avoiding content from only the latest, unreleased entry.

The idea of "Spoiler" as a tag is a bit difficult to work with because of those uncertanties. Big time announcements might be seen as not-spoilers to some, but as spoilers to others, same with lesser magazine releases or leaks (somebody not okay with the others might be okay with leaks). This would cause the tagging of Spoiler to be inconsistent.

why alias and not implicate? I feel like the new cast, as well as redesigns/outfits for characters in 2, 3, and, heck, even Octo Expansion were significant enough to probably deserve their own tags. it's not like it's unprecedented to imply games to a parent series, we do it with the_legend_of_zelda, five_nights_at_freddy's, and some of the metal_gear and sonic_the_hedgehog_(series) games.

Well that's up to everyone else if they want splatoon 2 to get unaliased. And well, as a result splatoon_(series) would have a purpose. But again, up to people. I'm just following what HAS been aliased
