Topic: [APPROVED] Rumble is generic (BUR)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #3298 is active.

create alias rumble_(league_of_legends) (0) -> rumble_(lol) (518)
create implication rumble_(lol) (518) -> league_of_legends (30795)

Reason: The rumble tag is dominated by the character from League of Legends, to the point where even the wiki page says as much. This is despite "rumble" being both the name of other characters (e.g. rumble (mlp) and a generic, common word. As a result, rumble -league_of_legends gives several non-LoL results:

post #2286419 post #2286505 post #3065848 post #3065850 post #3065852 post #3554076

The first two are the MLP character, the last one is the rumbling of a controller, and the middle three are... I'm not sure? Given the source tags has "ground rumble", I think it's also supposed to be generic rumbling. These aren't a ton, but it's enough that it'd be best to nip this in the bud and avoid any future confusion.

(brain is foggy today, hopefully everything in the script is fine)

EDIT: The bulk update request #3298 (forum #344691) has been approved by @furrypickle.

mass update rumble -> rumble_(lol)
...
create alias rumble (332) -> rumble_(disambiguation) (0)

You can't do these in the same BUR, since they can occur out of order (some may end up updated to rumble_(lol), and others aliased to rumble_(disambiguation)). Personally, I don't think the update is appropriate since there are posts using the tag that aren't the LoL character, even if most of them are, which would posts not using it for the LoL character to be mistagged. Better to just remove the update and leave the alias.

Ah, my bad then.

The only non-LoL posts using "rumble" are the ones I posted above. Once those are fixed the update should be fine.
