Reason: Control_collar is the only mind control related tag that follows the format of control_blank, while there are many others that follow the format hypnotic_blank. Aliasing it back to hypnotic_collar would improve standardization. Control used like this is also ambiguous. Uniformed taggers may assume that this tag refers to collars used to physically control characters by restricting their movement, or shock collars. I briefly made the that assumption myself on my first impression of the tag. Switching all mind control related tags to the control_blank format is not viable because many of them would suffer from similar ambiguous. control_visor suggests a visor that controls devices similar to how a remote would, and control_screen suggest a menu.
If they are unaliased, I would like to then immediately alias them with:
alias control_collar -> hypnotic_collar
alias hypnosis_collar -> hypnotic_collar
imply hypnotic_collar -> mind_control
The second part of this bur implies tags related to hypnosis and mind control to mind_control. Many of these tags contain a mixture of hypnosis and non hypnosis images, so the only tag that is sure to be shared is mind_control. While it may be better to instead alias all of these tags to a name that does not suggest hypnotic, I don't think an intuitive name like that exists. I think it is worth it to create a small implication quirk if it preserves intuitive tag names that users unfamiliar with the site would expect.
Also, the difference between mind_control, hypnosis, and brainwashing isn't the most clear from their wikis. I can only assume that hypnosis refers to more trance and suggestion based mind control and that brainwashing refers to mind control with a darker tone and a focus on changing a character's personality deeply. I would like to draw clearer lines between them, but I'm not sure exactly where those lines should be.
