Requested feature overview description.
Have the Default image width account setting have options based on media type and/or tags.
Why would it be useful?
99% of the time, I expect users want videos to fit within their viewport, but this is NOT the case for comics/image strips with many panels or images with text that would be crushed down if they are high resolution images.
As such, simply being able to set 1 Default width for videos and 1 for images would already be tremendously helpful.
However I think we can do better and use the tagging system, so that there is a separate option for images and images tagged comic.
I often find myself swapping this setting when going through some collection so that I don't need to manually resize every entry I'm going through, however it would be much better if it were automated.
Beyond this, have the Sample option used based on filesize, saving data and keeping load times more consistent.
This could become extremely complex, but a comprehensive implementation would yield a much better browsing experience.
What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
Settings? Asset fit loading? All posts
Example:
animated -comic -GIF = Vertical or Horizontal fit (whichever is smaller, helps keep video controls within viewport, GIFs can be opened full-size)
huge_filesize (we really need a tier above this) or superabsurd_res = Sample
comic or GIF = Original
-comic -GIF -superabsurd_res = Optional? I usually prefer to have images fit within my viewport as well, unless it has a massive collection of characters and small things going on in the image.
Other feature:
Additionally, if I could have Themes / Gestures tied to my account that'd be great. Navigation Bar: Both is the best default for me, since I can go to the next page/post of a comic after scrolling down to read it, or quickly swap without scrolling when that's something I want to do too.
