I just want to suggest that we could also alias away the spelling variation without the period in it too, just to prevent any future headaches. So e_aster_bunnymund -> e._aster_bunnymund . Because a period is easy to miss, and it's going to come up sooner or later. So we might as well handle it at the same time.

Oh...that's clever. I only just noticed that e_aster = easter . Whoever named that character had some fun with it apparently.
