Topic: What do you think of "x_on_another's_x" tags?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

So, throwing up this search on the tag page: https://e621.net/tags?search%5Bname_matches%5D=*_on_another%27s_*

Shows up quite a bit of specific tags. Some may think it's overly specific, while I think it's a good tag.

Should they stay, or should at least some of them be aliased to their less specific counterpart?

For example, I created a leg_on_another's_shoulder, should I have used just leg_on_shoulder instead? Sure, it's super uncommon or realistically impossible to put your own leg on your shoulder, but hey, furry art logic.

It's a clunky tag name, but it's helpful for disambiguating who's touching what, it's especially helpful when it's more common for a character to be depicted as touching their own (body part) — e.g. hand_on_thigh is far likely to be tagged on characters with a hand on their own thigh, while a character having their hand on another character's thigh is far less common. It makes searching easier (or would make it easier, hand_on_another's_* are new tags and need to have posts added to them).

For example, I created a leg_on_another's_shoulder, should I have used just leg_on_shoulder instead? Sure, it's super uncommon or realistically impossible to put your own leg on your shoulder, but hey, furry art logic.

This is a case where there's unlikely to be that much ambiguity, leg_on_own_shoulder would be a more helpful tag, assuming there are any posts where that happens.
