If male lizards have a slit to hide their penis, what does it look like when it becomes erect? Like when they're penis slowly comes out they're slit and be come fully erect.

Correct answer that won't get me in trouble: You don't, that's what the ambiguous_gender and ambiguous_slit tags are for.
Answer that most people actually go with: tag what you know and hope nobody calls you out on it.
There is some small leeway to determine sex by observing secondary sexual characteristics, see Tagging Genders.
- Male - toned muscles, body_hair, generally masculine appearance, etc.
- Female - breasts, wide_hips, long_eyelashes, generally feminine appearance, etc.
If they look like they can be either, then you can go with ambiguous_gender.
