Reason: For as long as Fuze's art has been uploaded to e621, his characters have been tagged under the usual convention: first name followed by artist suffix, unless a surname is available. This suffices for most artists, but Fuze has finally achieved what few manage: creating so many characters their names are starting to overlap.
This monster BUR is part 1 of what I expect to be a series. All characters here are (or were) canonically part of Fuze's Texnatsu universe (that may or may not be its actual name, it was originally supposed to be a "Morenatsu but in Texas" VN but has long since converted to comic form). This is just one of several separate universes Fuze has created, whose respective casts never meet each other except on special occasions. There has been a copyright tag for this series for years, but currently none of these characters imply it.
More significantly, there are multiple examples of characters with the same name both created by Fuze, but which are completely unrelated to each other. max_(fuze) is a good example: that link will take you to an Eevee character in one of Fuze's Pokemon universes (it's still somewhat ambiguous to what degree his various Pokémon comics are canon to each other). I had to move an existing character, now called max_(texnatsu), out of that tag. Another example is dan_(fuze), currently used to refer to a Texnatsu mouse. Unfortunately, it turns out this Luxio is also called Dan.
The overlap problems are why I am requesting mass updates instead of aliases, because I know for a fact we will need the original forms of these tags again at some point in the future. Some others are perilously close to causing problems, e.g. rick_(fuze) and ricky_(fuze). I don't want to have to make a judgement call on which of his Pokémon universes are part of the same canon (not least because I've been wrong about that before), and he also has some recurring characters who have no "universe" at all such as gabriel_(fuze). This will solve the majority of the problem for the time being, by removing the largest segment of *_(fuze) characters from the list. I will return to this thread at least once more with a similar BUR for Fuze's "Load-Off" and "Pre-Loading" VNs, whose characters are not yet fully tagged.
There is one other change in this BUR: I decided it was finally time to change tom_(fuze)'s name to Tim. The most recent source we have for his name, pool #14984, consistently refers to him as Tim: see post #1613503, post #1604977. The only "Tom" sources are very old and it seems safe to assume Fuze changed his mind since then: post #1445232 actually calls him "Thomas" instead and post #1443486 also features a character who did not appear with the rest of the cast in the actual comic.
