Reason: I’m the artist and I personally don’t want my old nsfw to be associated with my main. I sent a verification dm through twitter

Someday, someone will come across the malaroid tag then think it is an old name thus they will make an alias request to alias it back to jaquin_s and by that time everybody here will have forgotten that this original post was created to accomplish the opposite.

I am not in support of it, but the best course of action if you want to distance yourself from your nsfw art is to make a takedown request.

If that happens I’ll just leave it be, I don’t like making people upset by not letting them enjoy my art, old or not. It doesn’t bother me that much in the end but I also felt like it wouldn’t hurt to give this a try

i think artist should be allowed to have alternative artist tags if they don't want certian works under the same banner but also don't want their art to not be archived here, like how gloppossum has scataraxia for her more extreme stuff like scat and vomit

i mean that could pretty quickly be resolved by someone replying with "artist's request", linking to this topic, and rejecting the re-alias

This situation is relatively common and it is exactly what will happen here, I'm just waiting for the account verification to go through before approving.

That is not true and highly improbable. Alias requests will still need to go through a community vote before being allowed through.
Most of the time, if an artist had explicitly asked for their SFW and NSFW galleries to stay separate, you can find it being mentioned in wikis for the artist tags.

And as @gattonero2001 has already said, this is not an uncommon thing. A lot of artists do have two or more distinct artist tags for their content, if they had asked that they stay separated.

This is why it needs to be noted in the artist Wiki not to use them interchangeably. Otherwise, even if all the NSFW art is removed, people might not KNOW that they're the same artist.
