It should probably be aliased to wanking_gesture, since that is what the name implies, which is already implicated to suggestive_gesture.

edit: oh... nevermind lol. I actually looked at the tag. It's being used for many things including masturbation, handjobs, and various gestures. Should probably just clean it out by replacing it with the appropriate tags.

For some reason, it is tagged on some actual handjob posts that are very much not gestures. After getting cleaned up, it can be aliased to wanking_gesture.

EDIT: Or what Shitposter said in the edit: just stick to manual cleanup with no alias. The tag is a mess.

Replaced all of the tags except the ones that could be considered wanking_gesture just in case someone wants to alias it. If not just replace it.

I discovered handjob_gesture is also apparently a thing and it could also use a cleanup. It looks to largely be a mix of fellatio_gesture and wanking_gesture.

Since a handjob is when a character is stimulating another character's penis, a general hand motion that may not be insinuating doing it to another character or themselves, "handjob_gesture" doesn't seem like a good tag name to me. "Wanking", while crude, I think works better for a motion that isn't specifically insinuating a handjob or masturbation.

Personally I don't really care either way which tag gets used. I only edited it that way because that other thread show opinion generally leaning towards wanking_gesture -> handjob_gesture and the reasoning for it is pretty solid: wanking being a slang term that is ultimately limited to a small portion of the world. Handjobs, on the other hand, are fairly universal.

Also: isn't wanking just slang for jerking off anyway? Never really heard of it being used the other way.

My issue with this is that the gesture seems to generally refer to the act of masturbation rather than hand sex - the term “wanking” refers to masturbation. Though, it could be either, so if we don’t keep “wanking,” I think a more neutral term would be required. I’m struggling to think of one that isn’t exceedingly unwieldy, though. Keeping “wanking” would be so much easier.
