I will admit, I probably should've done a little more research before I decided to post my oldest art first, but the fact two were approved instantly and the rest are still pending after a day does make me a little worried that they won't survive. This doesn't mean anything. Sometimes objectively high quality and without any doubt site-related art might stay in the queue for weeks.

Oh. I guess I'm glad I don't have too many more pieces to upload then! I'm too used to other websites where your posts die after a day.

I can post the most produced painting here and get like 5 upvotes and even downvotes. Meanwhile, I can post the most stupid, wrongly drawn porn here and get at least over 60 upvotes.
People are mostly here to touch their pp xD.

Better use other art sites less focused in porn.

Oh, I was fully expecting the lewd stuff I draw to get more attention. I was not expecting the depressing stuff to blow everything else out of the water. Furry escapism is real, I guess.

It's reassuring to know that my art is high enough quality to stay at least. I wasn't expecting to walk in and drop niche sci fi stuff in here to rousing applause, but the unexpectedly long approval process was making me think it was doomed.

A large part of score is simply due to how many people have viewed a post, and more people browse animated.
By the way, e621's text system has a lot of built-in shortcuts. For example you can simply type {{felix_bardner}}^{=felix_bardner} to link to a search of your artist tag, rather than needing to go grab a full URL.

Don't worry. You have 30 days before anything you've posted will get auto-deleted. As long as your posts are of sufficient quality and relevance, they'll be accepted.

Possibly. People downvote for a variety of reasons, especially at first. But then, they also upvote for a variety of reasons. Either way, though, severely downvoted pictures can still get approved and heavily upvoted posts can still get deleted. Don't worry about the downvotes.

Also, since you're the artist behind that tag, would you like to be verified? You can have a free verified status check mark shown right beside your artist tag on pictures you upload. The advantage of being a verified artist is that it raises the speed someone can review your own uploads when they run across it. Knowing the artist posted their own art takes away a lot of background checking issues like making sure the source isn't pay-site exclusive, stolen, etc. or that the picture provided is in some way not the best one freely available.
