The tag alias #62096 markus_devore -> markus_(generaldegeneracy) has been rejected.

Reason: While e621 usually prefers surnames to owner's name AFAIK, but GeneralDegeneracy has multiple character tags on the site
So if we alias to markus_(generaldegeneracy) we can search for *_(generaldegeneracy) and get all their characters instead of adding a copyright tag to all of the images with their characters in them

That's not a good reason to use a less precise name. Alias requests have been rejected for trying to add an unnecessary owner suffix when their name is unique enough on its own. And we wouldn't add a copyright tag either, as we don't tag character owners (or commissioners). Owner information would go in the character's wiki page.

There's many examples of "copyright tags used as owner tag" though.
I can only think of sergeantbuck and ludwig_bullworth_jackson_(copyright) right now, but there's plenty, and they're pretty useful

Except in extremely rare admin-approved cases, tags for character owners and commissioners should be invalidated. You can see a number of them aliased to invalid_tag.

The alias should be reversed, markus_(generaldegeneracy) -> markus_devore.

Both tags have been around for years and have quite a few posts associated with them, so an alias is suitable here, but the full character name seems preferable to me over the suffixed tag.

Even after aliasing to markus_devore searching for *_(generaldegeneracy) will still work because aliases are resolved when using wildcard searches.

I agree an alias ought to be made, but flip it.
