Topic: People keep tagging [GORE] for [BLOOD] Interchangably

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Why?
Is there an implication in place where blood implies gore?

cause blood doesn't neccessarily mean there is gore.
Why else do warning labels say blood AND gore and not just gore?
that aside.

When I think gore, I think spilling entrails and guts....if I'm just seeing blood and it's being tagged gore. This is driving me nuts yo!

this is tagged gore...there is no gore in the picture just blood. This is but one of many examples where blood is depicted.

tag mistakes like these make my Blacklist go POOPOO and I end up missing some good posts because of it!

medically speaking, gore is any amount of shed blood, especially from violence. casually speaking, it's more akin to viscera or a particularly grievous injury, so people are probably using the textbook definition instead of reading e6's wiki.

If you spot an individual user who consistently and frequently uses a specific tag inappropriately, please privately message them and politely point towards the wiki definition. If they keep doing it afterwards, report their account and a moderator or admin will handle the issue.

Sometimes people arrive at a slightly incorrect personal definition of an obscure term or concept, more often than not they are just unaware of the difference and never considered the possibility that there might be one.

Speaking personally, I saw this image before, but didn't remove the gore tag, not because I thought it was right to be on that specific picture, but because when somebody removes a tag, but neglects to replace it correctly it can cause problems, even a record.
Gore is absolutely not the right tag for this, but there is no other tag to describe this morbid thing, it is like Sonic.exe or some other horror creature that leaks an excessive amount of blood from every orifice and looks gross and morbid.
And think about it for a minute, if this wasn't tagged gore, but somebody who doesn't have blood blacklisted because they're fine seeing paper cuts or slight violence may not like to see this disturbing image, and I am presuming whoever added this tag is that person.

This should be removed, of course, but then another tag needs to describe what ever that skin/muscle mass around the orifices is and what ever that blood leaking is.

horror_(theme) seems like it would be a good substitute, but I'm not sure it would work in 100% of use cases. Its definitely fitting here, though, as I think any average person would be creeped out by that art. I sure am, and I enjoy blood and light gore under specific situations.

Edit: I think the nightmare fuel tag that was already on it had it covered as well, but I also removed gore and substituted horror_(theme).
