Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: nine-volt -> adult_(lore)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

This isn't how that works. Implications must encapsulate an immutable property of the tag, which is why they are never made for characters (who, as fictional creations, are mutable in all aspects). If you proposed the implication nine-volt -> pichu, it would be rejected for the same reason.

At most, characters who are part of an established universe might get an implication to a corresponding copyright tag. But implications to in-universe lore information have a long history of being proposed and rejected.

EDIT: I hadn't even seen topic #38820 when I wrote that. But there you go, that's a perfect recent example.

i understand the pichu part, shouldn't include that because i forgot about the aspect and fact that universally artists could just not draw nine-volt as pichu and instead as an i don't know a nidoking for just because, but wouldn't just the lore tag of the character being canonically adult despite of what other medias represent/portrait would be an exception to some extend?
or am i just gonna be tagging every time adult_(lore) whenever the tag isn't present
i can live up to that, i just didn't knew it would be that much of thing to cause that problem

Lore tags follow artist lore, not canon lore, and it's on a case-by-case basis. Unless the artist explicitly makes their intent on a post clear one way or another, don't tag them.

When it comes to the adult_(lore) tag, though, I'd advise against adding it unless the post has to be applied and/or locked with the cub and young tags, since characters are assumed to be adult by default without them. There's nothing to really "correct."

That wouldn't be valid in instances where the character is young, for example an image depicting their childhood. Lore tags are intended to be for artist's intent in each given image. A character intended to be an adult in one image isn't assumed to be an adult in other images, if the artist hasn't stated it's an adult for that other image. Additionally, lore tags should only be used when the normal tags are "wrong" (you wouldn't tag male_(lore) if the character is already tagged male, and you wouldn't tag adult_(lore) if the character isn't tagged young, etc).
