Either update or alias. Don't do both. An update is a one time change, the tag is emptied out of the first one into the second one, but leaves the first one available for future use. An alias is a permanent change, every time somebody tries to use it, whether for tagging or for searching, it swaps out for the second tag.

An update would likely be sufficient, anyways because of first 3 letters bringing up automatic suggestion for the new tag? Otherwise, just make it an alias. Yeah, it'll get approved once you fix that conflict, I think. Oh, looks like someone already updated it by hand. I guess you don't need this approved, then, as it was done manually.
