Reason: When we refer to audio spoken in a specific language (such as English audio), it means that the audio is intended to convey somekind of verbal communication using that particular language. In order for the audio to be coherent and recognizable as belonging to a specific language, it inherently requires some form of voice.

According to the wiki for voice acted it involves “...the art of doing voice-overs or providing voices to represent a character or to provide information to an audience or user.” It can be a technique used to communicate information through the use of spoken words. Similarly, language itself serves as a means of conveying information sometimes verbally.

Considering this relationship between voice acting and language, it can be deduced that language audio, which is intended to communicate in a specific language, can be regarded as voice acted.

Also later on the wiki suggest that “For all forms of audio that contain words (whether it be voices or songs), audio language tags should also be used (english_audio, japanese_audio, etc.).” Suggesting that audio language tags themselves implies voice acting because they are applied to audio containing voices. With language audio tags just being voices understood as speaking a specific language.

Would these also not count for singing? Singing lyrics isn't the same as voice acting, as being good at one doesn't inherently make you good at the other.

Yeah, if there was a song with english lyrics playing over a video, that wouldn't be voice_acted but might be english_audio
Unless language_audio wouldn't apply for songs, which is possible I guess

OK so let me see if I’m just getting I’m getting this correct,

Assuming this BUR is accepted, and we have a post of a voice singing in English, tagged with singing and english_audio. Then according to this BUR voice_acted would also be tagged. And according to you this BUR would not apply to all situations because singing is not voice acted. Singers are in a seperate category from voice actors. Am I correct?

I think it's more that voice_acted is specifically for a character being voice acted, or a voice over narration. I wouldn't consider singing to match that. So, a character being shown singing would be voice_acted, but singing as part of background music wouldn't be.
