Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: fakemon -> fan_character

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #51253 fakemon -> fan_character has been rejected.

Reason: i'm not sure if this conflicts with the 'fan_pokemon' alias or not but i feel like it's kind of the other way around? i'm still very new to the forums and tagging and generally don't interact with the e6 community, but manual tagging drives me up the walls lol. someone's gotta do it ๐Ÿซก

EDIT: The tag implication fakemon -> fan_character (forum #368890) has been rejected by @gattonero2001.

Fakemon are not pokemon for tagging purposes. Fakemon should only be tagged pokemon (and thus could only be considered fan characters of pokemon) when something visibly pokemon is depicted (e.g. parts of lucario's design in a hybrid-like creature). If it's just a new creature "in the style of" pokemon, it's not considered pokemon.

Fan character is also pretty messy and overused. When you have settings within settings, and fan works of fan works, I find it used so much as to be useless. At the very least, I think it should only be used for defined characters, rather than a basic drawing of some critter standing in the void.

exactly, i prefer to see more 'generic' pokemon rather than ocs. i think any pokemon hybrids should automatically be tagged fan_character but thats kind of a slippery slope... i just want my canon mons dangit :(

you can blacklist fakemon and/or hybrid_pokemon/pokemon_fusion while also adding fan_character in a row, fakemon is very predominantly apply to the species itself, not a character per se
