The tag alias #63466 racist_slur -> racial_slur has been approved.
Reason: Synonymous terms should probably be aliased.

There was a whole debate about this before and idk if it was resolved. An admin supported "racial" but then rejected the BUR for it for some reason
Reverse it, "racial slur" is the more common term in English by a factor of about 8:1 based on Google results and trends.

That's not only that, there was "gender slur", "disability slur" and a few others. I recall that admin only supported "racial slur" over "racist slur".
I'm less concerned with the precise tag and more with having a standard, preferably consistent, with everything else aliased to it.

It is still unresolved, see topic #37956.
Maybe they just wanted to keep everything in a single BUR, rather than split into two competing BURs.

They wanted more neutral sounding terms, not just for racial_slur.
Racist slur sounds like it's something said to insult racists. XD Just saying.

I reversed it and approved it. My reasons were related to what Lafcadio said.
