There are two sets of color tags for claws and nails:

• more general (blue_claws, green_nails etc)
• more specific (blue_finger_claws, blue_toe_claws, green_fingernails, green_toenails etc)

Is it better to alias specific ones to general ones, or to keep both? Asking to avoid making messy redundant BURs.

Also [color]_nails all imply colored_nails, should that be changed to just nails? Doesn't make sense to assume that all colored nails are colored unnaturally.
Or should colored_nails be redefined as "having color different from that of body"? Nails with the same color as body are pretty common after all (and should get a name).

I think all those implications should probably be removed from the colored_nails tag and painted_nails should be used instead, because that tag makes it far more clear that it is for nails that are not their original colour than colored_nails does. The [color]_nails tags should probably only imply nails.

Not really related to this post but I honestly feel like colour tags need to be their own tag category because of how easily they can be used to bloat a post's tagcount, and something needs to be done to make the tag list easier to read when someone decides to tag 100 [color]_[bodypart] related tags on a single post.

+1 for [color]_nails/claws implying nails/claws straight up and painted_nails/claws being a separate thing, for when there's like, a nail polish bottle in the image or something
I personally don't have a strong opinion on whether to keep or alias away the [color]_fingernails/toenails tags

Yeah now I think redefinition is a smart idea. Would make all re-implication/separation work unnecessary.
You can't tell just from looking if someone's nails are painted or naturally colored, but you sure can tell that they have a distinct color.
painting_nails and nail_polish_bottle is how you find actually painted nails, maybe presenting_nails could be started, I'm sure this type of content exists.
