Topic: Tag alias: zoidberg656art -> Zoidrawzaton

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #63530 zoidberg656art -> zoidrawzaton has been approved.

Reason: I'm trying to retire a very old username and rebrand. My username was given to me when I was 9. My older brother made it when I wanted to create a Runescape account.
All of my socials are being changed to Zoidrawzaton, and I don't want to cause any future confusion.

Thank you~

EDIT: The tag alias zoidberg656art -> zoidrawzaton (forum #372471) has been approved by @slyroon.

Can I please get this tag change approved? It's been months.

Sadly, these requests can sometimes take years to be implemented. (About 2 years, if I remember, on one of the things I submitted)

The only thing you could do right now is to manually change the tag on your old art to your new username. I know some people have issues with others changing tags just like that, but considering you are the actual artist, I personally would see it reasonable enough that you could do it like that as well.

33 Post changes can be done quite quickly, otherwise just wait and this will be done eventually.

Artist aliases are usually quicker when attention is brought to them.

Like everything else ... still 7 Months later, and no one else seemed bothered, so do I have a point here?

To be clear, I could have changed the Artist Tag on these 33 posts a dozen times while I was writing my first comment
I kind of like the system her on e621, but it is sometimes way too slow to be useful on things, maybe under 1000 post changes.
1-2 Months max would be fine with me, but if you have to notice an Admin for everything so you get the proper attention, that seems not to be a good solution either.

We have a backlog of about 1100 aliases, 322 implications, and 2335 BURs. We have a single person regularly handling them. Mind you, these numbers are after we rejected everything from before 2021, and with said handler working their damndest to whittle down the numbers. No one wants to handle them, because handling them tends to be a burden. Most are more than "Upvoted a lot? Approve. Downvoted a lot? Reject"

A very nice individual, Delta72, told me that they spent a good while changing over a hundred tags for me manually, but reached a limit and they couldn't finish the remaining 33.
Is changing the artist tag on someone else's post a thing I can do?

I don't really use e621 too much to understand it's features fully...

Yes, you can change any tags on any post :)

I was kind of aware of that volume from my own experience, but the fact that you only have one person handling all that stuff explains a lot.
I salute the person trying to conquer this madness.

This is not a criticism of the work of that person, but realistically speaking, I think these small requests take too long for the little benefit they often provide, like here with a single alias.
That's why I stopped submitting such requests a long time ago.

BURs are probably the best of them all because there is way more thought process behind submitting them properly.
But the more complex they are, the harder it is to check them for errors and consistency.

But do I get that right, no matter how much attention or upvotes it gets, it will not be approved significantly faster?
Will they be handled by the order they are submitted, or do you handle the most popular request first?

Hi, it seems I somehow got you enough attention... I must be quite annoying.

but seems you won the war ;-)

And yes, I saw on your Profile that you are not quite familiar with the tag system... but you can add and change the tags on your own. Just be careful there are some guidelines how to tag properly.
Or even upload your own art, but try to use, in that case, at least 10 tags on an upload because you can get banned if you disobey the rules multiple times.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the forum, or maybe write me too on e621 if you like for some explanations of how this system works.
