The tag alias #63632 were -> werecreature has been approved.

Reason: They essentially mean the same thing.

Initially, I requested werecreature to be aliased to the more popular were tag, but users appear to be in favour of the werecreature tag being used instead.

ah yes, totally unparseable tagnames, just what we need more of.

with few exceptions, tagnames are meant to be understood by the general userbase just by reading them, at least whenever that's possible. that's why we did away with stuff like chiropteran.

werecreature is much easier for a user to understand just by reading it.

Nah, that's more associated with general anthropomorphism, where it's meaning is too similar to or more easily confused with anthro. werecreature is better understood to be related to bestial creatures and transformation (as much as were may be overtagged for plain anthro characters, I feel therianthrope would be more overtagged).

That’s a fair point and I agree.
The werecreature tag is more accurate in this context.
