Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: colored_line_art -> colored

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Doesn't feel quite right, pictures can have colored lines but still be monochrome, while colored would mean "more than one or two colors" in my opinion.
And according to the wiki, "colored" is intended to be used on uploads that are a colored alt of another piece, so I think this implication isn't valid.

The colored tag is a mess and imo should either have its wiki changed to reflect the way it's actually used or be invalidated (because maybe if its wiki was changed it'd be too much like a search for -monochrome)

Monochrome doesn’t mean greyscale, it’s possible for monochrome posts to be colored. I think it would be interesting to have more posts tagged with both.

If the colored tag would be invalidated, it would just split into multiple smaller ones, and I am not sure if this would be very useful either.

There seems to be a lot of debate on the colored tag, (see topic #40257) so I think I should open a new forum thread about it specifically…

EDIT: new thread here: topic #40278

Updated

has color =/= colored; a person who drew something with a single red pen has not necessarily colored the image.

also, man, colored_line_art is a total mess. with more than like 2/3rds of the posts being fully colored and not even somewhat close to the tag definition.

but the lineart itself is colored, so I don’t see the problem there?

For the other issue, maybe a more precise tag like "colored in" might be more useful?

Some of the lines are colored in that; most apparently on the top of the bow ribbon thing where it overlays the ear. It's pretty subtle, but there are some colored lines.

colored_line_art is not for line art that has been colored, it's for art made with colored lines.

so like...
this is colored line_art post #3575160
this is not post #3586284

The wiki does not specify this, the tag name does not specify this.

There are also some better, more apparent examples of a post that both has colored line art and is colored in, such as:
and
post #3922174

I think the colored line art tag is relevant even if there is color elsewhere than the lines.

colored_line_art monochrome shows colored-line-only artworks, and there are not a lot.
