The tag implication #52038 veilhound -> crown_flame has been rejected.

Reason: veilhounds are a species created by Smooshkin

According to the official description "every veilhound has a flame that floats between their horns" ( crown flame )

So now I'm not sure anymore if the implication is a good idea.

characters can still be a species if a feature of that species is not visible. even assuming that the character not having the crown because it was removed or destroyed or snuffed out or whatever made them not a veilhound, the crown could be off-screen, or obscured, or any number of things and the tag would still be valid.

it'd be like having male imply penis.
