I expected these_aren't_my_glasses to be a purple tag like can't_see_the_haters, can it be fixed? They both seem to be meme/joke poses to me? Or do I misunderstand how purple tags are supposed to be.

you mean the copyright tags
memes aren't "copyrighted" to some extent but it's better than filling up the meta tag with stuff so that's why it's a copyright tag usually and yes you can change the category of a tag... usually, sometimes staff locks a tag to be changed in description or category type
the glasses tag is locked to be changed, maybe ask an admin about it but i'm not sure, some memes born here for tag purposes are usually general tags instead of copyright ones

That's because you can't change tag category after a tag reaches a certain number of posts
