Topic: Faster Way To Remove Tags?

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

When I import stuff from rule34 I usually have to manually remove every obscure tag because of the differences between the two sites approaches on tags, is there a way to quickly remove these waste tags such as clicking on them instead of having to command f each tag find it then delete it?

It's better to tag posts from scratch when posting here, rather than trying to "import" tags from other sites. Not only do other sites have different tags, but even when it has the same tag name, e6 may have a different usage which wouldn't always apply here when it does there. e6 may also have its own tags you should use that the other site doesn't have.

You can also use a shell script to strip them from a text file. Some text editors have batch replacements, so if you exported your tag lists to a long list... See: Linux shell Overkill UltraEdit :D There is also a Windows version of SED , although Text Replacer looks simple to use. It is no longer a valid link, but it looks like there should be others with a similar capability. It's literally just a for loop iterating over a list of files.

Since you have to add and verify tags, anyways, might as well do it manually from scratch. Be careful of accidentally copying and pasting inapplicable tags in a series of similar images.

Don't import from rule34. It's shit.
If you directly import shit (i.e., posts and tags) without going through them, chances are they are shit (i.e., inferior in quality, irrelevant in tagging).

Find the actual sources that the artist posts to, choose the highest quality of them all, tag manually with what you know.

I think they're talking about r34.x, and not Pahael, but really, the same still applies to that site.

"Importing" tags should be the least of your worries here.
You sound like someone who's going to get banned for uploading pirated content soon.
