Reason: I'm sorry. These BURs are just too fun to research. ZeniMax is one of the three companies that make up Microsoft Gaming, the other two being Xbox Game Studios and Activision-Blizzard.

ZeniMax is made up of a few subsidiary studios: Bethesda Softworks, Tango Gameworks, Arkane Studios, and id Software.

The Evil Within was only published by Bethesda, it was developed by Tango Gameworks.

I don't think we need all of these. ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, who is the publishing arm for the various developers (Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, Arkane Studios, etc; notably Bethesda Softworks itself doesn't develop anything anymore). Microsoft now owns ZeniMax, so ZeniMax isn't an independent company anymore; everything it does is essentially Microsoft.

The Bethesda Softworks tag is a mess, as it's half treated as a developer (for TES, Fallout) and half IP owner (Dishonored, The Evil Within, etc). However since the Microsoft buyout, Microsoft now owns the IPs, and Bethesda Softworks just takes care of publishing duties (and we shouldn't tag since they didn't make or own anything). The Bethesda developer tag should be Bethesda Game Studios, who shouldn't be associated with Arkane's, Tango's, or id's games, but that's currently aliased to Bethesda Softworks. When it comes to these games, we should only tag the developers/creators and the IP owners, not every company in an ownership chain from the developers.

Good work and very interesting but some of this looks like potential tag spaghetti lol. Defo keep the essentials though. Quake and Hi-fi Rush are a good catch.

That's fair and I was definitely concerned about creating too many layers. I just wasn't sure how to go about it. Other suggestions are welcome and I'll modify the BUR! At the very least I'll modify the BUR to chop off the extra layer?

I chopped off the ZeniMax layer on the BUR, I don't have a better idea for the title though. If it'd be better to reject and rework though that's fine by me.

Bumping this to bring attention that I removed the extra layer on the BUR so now it just makes the games imply their developers and the developers imply the owner (Microsoft)
