Topic: [APPROVED] [BUR] Banishing some insult tags

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

create alias badly_drawn (3) -> invalid_tag (1)
create alias poorly_colored (2) -> invalid_tag (1)
create alias poorly_rendered (2) -> invalid_tag (1)
create alias shitty_oc (0) -> invalid_tag (1)
create alias poor_quality (1) -> invalid_tag (1)

Reason: These should join their bretheren in invalid_tag.

I welcome this, but the first one looks to be a tag made in jest like what, where is your god now and lol_comments, then again tag_hell was invalidated in favor for tag_panic, so maybe it's warranted.

I got nothing to say about the last four, they should not exist eriod.

It's not a common one like those are, and is still subjective and inherently based on shaming the quality of the art in question. The wiki starts with "Usually used for the worst kind of pictures" and the only example image provided is something obviously drawn by an amateur (and likely someone who was a kid when it was drawn):

post #1539837

Other images in the tag vary from "just a MS paint doodle" to "obvious meme" to "kid's fanart from 2007".

^ Like, these are just here because the tagger thinks they look bad. That's not something this site needs, IMO.

I just feel that 1000_hours_in_ms_paint is a playful jab at the uploading quality policy, rather than an insult

1 I was thinking the same thing, but tags like these are supplementary and never obectively used or even needed. This applies to lol_comments and what as well. They're just for fun from what I understand.

2 This is the first time I see you comment on any bur, you vote often on burs, usually against the majority vote, but never explain why.

If it's really meant to be used for grandfathered images that wouldn't pass the modern uploading quality policy, we have grandfathered_content for that

LOL, look at the tag history. It was the uploader and character owner themselves!

That doesn't make it valid.

If the bur starter is still around they should add this tag to the butcher list.

So the question becomes whether or not 1000_hours_in_ms_paint is popular enough to become a grandfathered tag

honestly, it's not even a good tagname for the definition. 1000_hours_in_ms_paint sounds to me like it'd be something actually decent despite being made in Paint because someone obviously spent an unreasonable amount of time on it.

I'm guessing it's supposed to be an ironic term, but irony very rarely works in tag form.

It's a version to a meme that is nearing it's 20 year anniversary now.

I removed

As there seems to be some disagreement if it should stay or go, and I think it warrant it's own discussion.

The rest has been handled.
