Topic: Tag Implication: tentacle_sex -> tentacles

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Tentacle_sex was originally created as a tag for consensual tentacle images (which are extremely rare), as a counterbalance the tentacle_rape tag. So the last two implications wouldn't work by that definition: both fellatio and tentaclejob can be nonconsensual.

But the name is less than obvious and it is often tagged for tentacle rape anyway. So it probably needs to be fixed somehow. Maybe those should be tagged as consensual_tentacle instead...?

vvv True in many cases. Though sometimes it's possible to tell that it's consensual:

I've basically given up on trying to gauge consent vs. rape and resorted to just removing obviously consensual images from the various *rape tags.

I noticed that some users had started tagging consentacles for this theme. So I tagged a few more.

How does it look? Worth keeping?

It seems more useful than just tagging consensual...well ever. And it flows well as a portmanteau :). I think it is probably worth keeping.

It's worth mentioning that on a whim I randomly checked derpibooru for the tag, and it looks like it's already well-established there.

tentacle_fellatio -> penis

I just noticed this one. I don't think it should imply penis any more than fellatio should. You can have fellatio without the penis actually visible, particularly with whatever the tentacle analog is of deep throating.

The following changes were not made:

  • Implication: tentacle_fellatio -> penis (denied) - Along the same line of reasoning as fellatio, a penis is not always going to be visible.
  • Implication: tentacle_rape -> tentacle_sex (preemptively denied) - I know this will come up sooner or later, but since rape doesn't imply sex, tentacle_rape probably shouldn't either. The reason rape doesn't imply sex is because there are many cases where rape might apply but sex doesn't (e.g., forced tearing of clothes while kissing an unwilling character); I'd expect similar scenarios to occur with tentacles.

Pending:

Right now it seems like the consensus is to tag tentacles with sex, even though they aren't counted as a character for solo/duo, etc. and the gender/gender tags. I'd like to put this up for discussion before making a final decision on this.

Edit: I'm going to leave this one off for the moment as it isn't a huge priority. It's not tagged on most of them right now anyways.
