Reason: Definition from Oxford languages: "an apparition of a dead person which is believed to appear or become manifest to the living, typically as a nebulous image." I would say this counts for undead.

I think for tagging purposes it'd be better to keep spirits seperated from reanimated bodies.

But the wiki page for undead also says that ghosts are undead: "When something is not dead, but not really living either. This includes zombies, ghouls, ghosts, and other things that roam about but don't exactly live." As well as this, spectre is linked to undead, and a spectre is a type of spirit. I am not advocating for spirit to be linked, but a ghost is commonly accepted as undead. I don't see any meaningful difference between a ghost and a spectre, so I don't see why one implies undead and the other doesn't

I think "ghost" is a bit more generic for "ethereal body", it doesn't have to strictly be an undead creature given how it can be used to describe certain pokemon and creatures like boo_(mario) that don't necessarily represent something deceased.

because Parasprite added the implication with zero discussion nigh on a decade ago.

I would consider a ghost to be a non-physical manifestation of a dead individual (at least when it's not being used as some sort of ghost-like being that isn't necessarily dead, such as the ghosts from Pac-Man) while undead are basically physical remains that should be dead and inanimate but somehow aren't.
