Topic: Black hipless dress, possible new meme clothing?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I've been seeing a lot of art online of this one particular dress design, a black hip-less gown that has gold chains draped in certain areas, here's an example:

However, I've been unable to find the name of this particular trend, any search for "meme dress" brings up that whole "gold and white/black and blue" dress from a long time ago. Does anyone know what this particular design is referred to as, and should a tag be made that implicates meme_clothing?

it might be as simple as hip slit dress

That can refer to a dress that has a slit all the way down with a split hem, while this design always has the fabric re-converge at the bottom of the thigh.

Here's another one in case you wanted help gathering them all up once you figure out what to tag them:

its been gotten, thanks, so far hollow_hip_dress seems to be appropriate

That seems too generic of a name for this specific design. Basically all of the images tagged with hollow_hip_dress are all the exact same design, down to the color and the gold chains. Due to it being an art trend, just like the Virgin Killer sweater, I think it'd be appropriate to give it a proper name and make it implicate meme_clothing.

Given the hollow hip design being seemingly unique to this specific dress, it seems appropriate to go ahead and request the implication. I've made the request in topic #43313

Perhaps it ought to be tagged as Modakawa_hollow_hip_dress or hollow_hip_dress_(modakawa) since it is within reason for other hollow hip dresses to be invented. Even using Modakawa is questionable but arguably better than nothing, as Modakawa itself has produced other such dresses.

As someone pointed out in the aforementioned implication request thread, there is a Know Your Meme article that calls it the "Modakawa Backless Chain Dress". Maybe it could be backless_chain_dress or modakawa_chain_dress, something along those lines.

it would be good to simplify the name with fewer vowels but keep a unique name to identify it from basic black dresses. as even though hollow hip works the term hollow i think is a place to measure from (between the collar bones) for sizing

so seeing as this is only dress so far with chains why not just call it sexy_chain_dress or just chain_dress

lmao, sorry, typo

hollow_hip_backless_chain_dress

edit: is everyone's comment like this?

I just think that it should be specific enough to pinpoint it to the exact dress, and I think the only way to do that is to have Modakawa in the name. I vote for modakawa_chain_dress.

That would make it more unique, maybe too unique. Unless you want to do a bur or whatever is required for all the misspellings people would use to try and remember the name I suggest just a simple chain_dress. it is the only dress I can think of that has chains and the hollow_hip_dress is still fine although still too ambiguous to allow misstaggings of other hipless articles of clothings

I'm hoping that if they don't even know what it's called, they'll have a better way of finding out than just typing in everything they can think of that it might be, like going to the "meme_clothing" tag, finding a picture that contains the dress, and then looking at the tags on that.
