Topic: religious freedom bill

Posted under Off Topic

I feel I should note that GenCon has outright told the Governor they will leave Indiana as a result of the bill passing, and there is a Kickstarter up to allow them to break their contract. ( http://www.themarysue.com/gen-con-religious-freedom-law/ )

Also, Washington State is courting GenCon as a result of this, and three states (the aforementioned WA, Connecticut, and New York) are barring officials from traveling to Indiana on official business. ( http://time.com/3763622/connecticut-state-travel-indiana-religious-freedom-law/ )

Angie's List is halting plans to expand its HQ in Indianapolis. ( http://www.indystar.com/story/money/2015/03/28/angies-list-canceling-eastside-expansion-rfra/70590738/ )

The Disciples of Christ have threatened to move their conference out of Indiana. ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/28/disciples-of-christ-lgbt-indiana_n_6955558.html? )

All in all, Indiana just shot itself in the foot.

Jesus fullfiled the laws like the one on not working on the sabbath EX 35:2,bad thing he got killed before he was able to fullfil other laws, including the one about Being gay. Jesus never said anything about being gay.

Like Ippiki_Ookami, I'd support this for the individual freedom. Let the individual deal with individual consequences, but give them the freedom to make a choice without. They shut down from threats; how is that supporting the rights of others? How is that tolerant of their views? I'm glad the proposed law will help them if passed AND IF they decide to reopen in the future.

I'm amazed atheism isn't the state religion yet.

I'm not. Although, that might be because it's not a religion.
