Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: aesprite_(artwork) -> asesprite_(artwork)

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Neither are correct. It's actually Aseprite.

What would, realistically, differentiate Aseprite artwork from any other pixel art? Or are we going for a TWYK system with some art programs?

The art program tags are meta tags, so yes, TWYK. Like the traditional art medium tags or year tags.

Traditional art mediums aren't completely TWYK, as they have influence on the appearance of the resulting image. The entire point of different traditional mediums is that they produce different visual effects. Most/all software doesn't have the same differences, and are often interchangeable visually with the primary difference being the UI and the kind of flow it creates for the artist (different artists having different preferences for how they work). Year tags are also somewhat problematic when used on images that don't have their date written on it (I keep finding plenty of posts with an incorrect year tagged on it, a description saying one thing and the tag another, sometimes the tag even contradicting what's written on the image).

Bit of a tangent, but while not all softwares have distinct visual differences in the final product, I would strongly disagree that all don't:

I find those too, so I fix them... It's really not that hard... This is an argument that could be made about every tag in existence.

I don't know if Microsoft Paint is a really good example of this, you can really make anything look like MSPaint it with just about any art program there is, all you gotta do is only use aliased brushes and not use layers. the same can largely be said about Flipnote and any other restrictive program.

It's not really super relevant anyways simce these are tags that exist for metadata purposes, but yeah, you do have a point.
