Topic: Tag alias: pee_desperation -> omorashi

I'm really not a fan of these japanese tag names. to me it feels like they add an unnecessary layer of obfuscation for no real reason.

I think omorashi is one of those rare cases (bukkake, ahegao, etc.) where the Japanese word is used way more frequently than the English translation.

honestly, I don't see the purpose of bukkake either. it seems close enough to cum_covered that the two are more or less indistinguishable.

Because Bukkake is what the fetish is classed on many sites from Rule 34 all the way to Pornhub just like Ahegao is just Orgasm Face but is more known as Ahegao

we shouldn't be doing stuff just because some porn sites do it. especially when most porn sites also have mostly to near totally non-functional tag searching functions.

we really should only be using loanwords like this when there's no way to describe something concisely in english.

I'd say flip it. I can never remember how these are supposed to be tagged...
Bukkake can stay, mostly because there's no good equivalent in English.

I dunno who decided that the "desperate to pee" fetish should be called "omorashi", but that's straight up wrong lol

In Japanese the word simply means wetting. Pixiv uses the おしっこ我慢 tag for "pee-holding".

I agree with Genjar that omorashi should be aliased away (however, I'd alias it to wetting) and that an english term should be used. I think a good english tag for it would be pee_holding, since the word desperation is too subjective term.

It's not the first or last word to be borrowed from Japanese that's given a different meaning. See also hentai, which essentially just means pervert, but to English speakers has come to mean adult anime and manga. Or anime and manga, which literally mean just animation and comic respectively (Spongebob is an anime and Superman is a manga, to Japan), but to English speakers they mean certain types of Japanese-style animation and comics.

おしっこ oshikko and 放尿 hounyou are different words than お漏らし omorashi, so I'm not sure why you mentioned them. As far as I'm aware, お漏らし omorashi just means "wetting"*, so it's still "wrong" (wetting ≠ pee holding), but also see Watsit's comment.

* Looking it up on a native online dictionary, Weblio defines it as 小便を漏らすことをいう幼児語 ("a children's term to express leaking urine").

Ah, I knew I was doing something wrong, I copied the wrong word! Also, the term is badly translated on pixiv (both おしっこ and お漏らし are "peeing"). I'll edit my previous post.

That makes sense. However, I'd still argue against using it because, unlike ahegao or bukkake, it's a false friend.
