Artist info can be modified by anyone. That does not count as a valid source

Did some digging. Unfortunately, since I don't read Japanese, it's hard to do research on this. Bear with me.

Most of the e621 posts tagged semi_(artist) point to one of two sources, A pixiv account that stopped posting in 2021 and a defunct Twitter account that deactivated/deleted around late 2023.

No archives for the Twitter account are available on the wayback machine.

I found a pawoo.net (Mastodon) account which appears to belong to "semi", since it has some art that was also posted to their pixiv. See post #4347591. The Mastodon account's last post was in 2019 and it points to another dead twitter account.

This other dead twitter account thankfully IS archived and it points to both the Pixiv account that stopped posting in 2021 AND this skeb.jp account which links to "いくたせみ" (ikutasemi)'s Pixiv account which is one of the most-cited sources in the she_tikin tag.

I was skeptical because their art styles appear dissimilar at first, but following the daisy-chain of dead links, these appear to be the same artist. I'm not sure what name is best for the tag as this artist has a lot of different online handles, but the most common through-line appears to be the name "ikutasemi" which is the name of their (active) Pixiv (which links to) their misskey.io account (which links to) Bluesky Twitter and Skeb.jp which are all given the display name "育田せみ" (ikutasemi)

The bluesky account links to this lit.link (linktree-like website) page which links to both the inactive (Semi) pixiv and the newer (Ikutasemi) pixiv.

So, I think both semi_(artist) and she_tikin should alias to ikutasemi as that appears to be their current alias. I tried to make a BUR for this but it appears semi_(artist) has blocking transitive relationships.

Slightly out of my depth here, and there are a couple of oddities. I'm not sure that having e621 post sources for she_tikin pointing towards ikutasemi is sufficient evidence to show they're the same person, though it does definitely suggest there may be something going on

Also where did the name she_tikin come from exactly?

post #2329427 for instance sources both the ikutasemi pixiv account and the twitter account @she_tikin which is now defunct. This archive shows the sourced Tweet as it was in 2019. The last archive for @she_tikin was in 2020 which was probably when the handle was changed to... whatever it was changed to.

The bio of @she_tikin (shown in the archive I just linked) points to ikutasemi's Pixiv

I'd alias both names to ikutasemi since they keep reusing ikatu and semi across accounts. semi_(artist) should not be the active artist tag since it's their old, abandoned pixiv account name.

Yeah, I agree, just need to wait for this alias to get rejected so I can do it through BUR
